about me

hello! my name's astra, pleased to meet you ( ´ ꒳ ` ). feel free to use any pronouns with me. if you can't pick, I usually go with she/them. I speak both english and spanish fluently. you can read through this if you'd like to know more about me in depth♡
I'm a freelance Illustrator, vruber and professional graphic designer born and raised in Chile, South America.
I'm on my late twenties, and have been drawing from before my teenage years.
for me, drawing is not only a hobby but a basic need to survive. the act of creating anything (be it writting, drawing, designing...) is what keeps me going. and being able to share what I do with others fills me with joy. I feel like I can connect with people better when I draw for them, or when I see their own creations. I love doing commissions precisely because of this, and knowing that people is willing to pay for my work truly is an incredible honor I'll always be grateful for, specially since I'm a disabled individual and I find it hard to keep a stable job and go outside. therefore, being able to help with bills at home with my art truly is a blessing.
I'm a diagnosed neurodivergent (AuDHD) with agoraphobia and c-ptsd. I also have fibromyalgia, hEDS and PCOS, so I suffer from and live with daily chronic pain, fatigue and other symptoms that make it hard for me to move around much or be independent. I'm still getting tested for more stuff. I'm also a mobility aid user (rollator walker).
My dream is to be able to move on my own someday, and dedicate my life to creating both paid and free illustrations, and do charity streams to help people like me whenever I'm able♡.
I also enjoy videogames, reading books and manga, table-top games, roleplaying, writing, and listening to podcasts. I like cottagecore, fairycore, dreamcore, backrooms and sleepycore aesthetics. I have a deep interest in rodents, tea, SCPs, and mental health. I love original characters and their lore, so if you ever want to info-dump or rant about yours, feel free to DM me no context whatsoever, I'd love to read! if we share other interests, my DMs are open as well. sometimes it may take me a bit to respond, but I always do so say hi!♡

My dream is to be able to do more free art than commission work for those who can't afford to pay for it, supporting myself from my streaming activities. Art is a luxury, but that doesn't mean that people who can't afford it shouldn't be able to get it as well.
Therefore, once in a while I will open a form for a free commission slot. How often and how many I open monthly depends on how many donations I get the month before the opening, but I will do my best to open at least 1 slot bi-monthly, even if it's for a sketch.
